So I asked….

So now I have a book that nobody has read, a blog that is not created, a second book that is not started, and thinking I am going to just give up. It was a good idea I thought….Ha.

Later that night after dinner, my husband says out of the blue, ‘I finished your book this morning’.

I wait patiently for him to finish that sentence….and there was nothing else.

‘Well, what did you think?’ I forced myself to ask.

‘Not bad’ he answers.

‘That’s it?’ I asked.

‘It was good. I told you the things I found wrong already.’

So I guess when they tell you to not use a spouse as a proof reader or test reader, this is why.

That was the end of the conversation. The comments I had gotten a couple days ago was all I was going to get apparently. I think this is a good thing. Right?

I spent a couple more lunches going through the book and making small changes here and there.

So now I had my book finished and here I sit. Undecided on what to do. Undecided on whether to do anymore or just let it die. Let it die a slow painful death……

A couple nights later, we were going out to eat and he asks me what I was doing with my book.  I told him I was undecided and that after reading through the things on the internet, I was not sure whether I wanted to continue.

He shook his head and says ’I thought you already had a story line for the second book?’
I told him I kind of did but was not sure I wanted to continue.

‘Well, I think if you change the part about Logan’s phone, you can write the second book pretty easy and that will give you a good tie in for the second one.’

So we proceed to have a conversation about it and after he explained what he meant, I could see where he was going and changed some thoughts around in my head. And now I had a concrete idea for the second book in the series.

‘In the series’? Did I really just say that. So my book that nobody has read or knows about is now the first of several.

I guess I better start on the second one soon……
