Pondering on my book again, well, pondering whether or not to write a second one.  Everything I read cautions that you should have the second book done before you release the first one…so that when people finish the first one, they will immediately buy the second one.

That is assuming, of course, that they like the first one.  But what if it is a flop…and nobody likes it…

which I won’t know until I get it out for people to read.  A vicious circle and it just keeps swirling around in my head.

I have not done anything toward a second book.  I have thought through a few things, but am far from even starting it.  Of course, since I did the first one all wrong…haha….and learned that after I was almost done, I should now be a seasoned professional and know just exactly what to do…right?  Wrong.

I think I have more questions now than before, mainly because I have been reading all this stuff on the internet about writing books.  Everyone has an opinion on what to do, how to do it, when to do it, even where to do it.  How do you know who to follow and listen to when you read all this stuff?  I guess if I had the answer to that, I wouldn’t be writing this blog huh?

I still haven’t let anyone read my book other than my husband.  I get myself ready and then second guess myself and put it back away.  There are only a couple people that know it is finished (well, and you now since you are reading this).  My family still doesn’t know I have done it, my friends don’t know.  Only one of my co-workers knows and that is only because she was helping me with the copyright.

I am convinced that I am doing it all wrong.  I am sure most everyone goes through this at some point when they venture off into something they have never done before.  I did the same thing with my photography and learned as I went along from my mistakes.  Of course, I also had lots of help from friends and fellow photographers to push me along outside of my comfort zones and that is when I started to see a real difference.  Maybe that is the key.  I need to step outside my comfort zone with my writing…..which is pretty much everything involved in it. 

Oh, what to do.
